South Sudan—the world’s youngest country—is also one of the most dangerous places for journalists. Since independence in 2011, political violence, corruption, and repression have driven many reporters and writers into exile. In this conversation, writer Stella Gaitano and journalist Joseph Oduha discuss leaving South Sudan, working from exile, and what it means to stay connected to a country you can no longer live in.
