Sometimes, a polite question isn’t enough. When journalists learn to use the law as a tool, they can unlock doors that would otherwise remain closed. That’s why CORRECTIV.Europe is excited to welcome Tarjei Leer-Salvesen, one of Norway’s leading investigative journalists, for the first in our new webinar series.
Tarjei will demonstrate how to use General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and environmental information laws to access data and documents from authorities or corporations — powerful but often underused resources for local, national, and cross-border investigations.
With deep hands-on experience, Tarjei has authored textbooks on information access and built tools widely used by Norwegian journalists to retrieve public records. His approach shows how laws often seen as obstacles — especially privacy legislation — can be flipped into tools for public-interest reporting.
